Year 4 created some stunning flowers using MSW Logo. They learnt how to programme an on-screen turtle, create procedures to draw shapes and combined their skills to create individual artwork.

Incredible Art by Year 5

Still image for this video
Year 5 used their Geography topic, Rivers, as an inspiration when they created incredible pointillism art using the paint tool. Pointillism is a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of colour are applied in patterns to form an image. Georges Seurat and Paul Signac developed the technique in 1886, branching from Impressionism.

Animal Man

Alumwell Junior pupils were treated to a visit from 'Animal Man'.  He brought with him a selection of various animals which included snakes, spiders, a skunk, an owl and a coati (a relation to the raccoon family).  Some very brave children (and also some very brave members of staff) took turns in holding the creatures.  A great day was had by all!
