Visitors

Africa Day  - 1st October

We had a visitor to teach us about African culture and customs.

We began by making masks. We learnt what each different colour signified and then tried to make our own patterns using dots.

We learnt that traditionally the patterns on the masks would be symmetrical so some of us had a go at trying to include that in our own patterns.

After lunch we experienced some African dancing. Our routine was a 'call and response'. The leader made the call and we had to respond.

We practised our dancing and then performed for year three.

Some Special Visitors - 8th September

Year 4 had some very special visitors today. Rob works at Exotics of the World where they rescue and care for a range of animals.

You can find out more about Exotics of the World over on their Facebook page.

As our topic is Africa we were looking at a range of animals that are found there. Here are some of our pictures.
