Year 4

Team Year 4 - Alice in Wonderland

Team Year 4 - Alice in Wonderland 1
Thank you to everyone for the effort that went into costumes for World Book Day. Everyone looked amazing and it was really difficult to choose our winners. Well done to Unaisah, Kayla and Zaynah - Rent a Bridesmaid, Cruella De Vil and Gangsta Granny!
Sticking with our World Book Day theme on Tuesday 28th February we all enjoyed the M and M production of Alice in Wonderland.

On Wednesday 11th January Year 4 had an Anglo Saxon visitor. He told us lots of stories, including Beowulf. We saw a range of different artefacts before playing some Anglo Saxon games. We also had a quiz and explored poems called kennings.

Although none of the children were very keen on the idea of licking his feet clean!

Fire Service

On Friday 18th November, year 4 had a visit from Walsall Fire Service. We spent some time in the classrooms learning about various aspects of fire safety before going outside to see and sit in the fire engine!

We'd like to say a big 'Thank you' to the crew for their time smiley

Homework

In Year 4 the only homework children will be expected to do is:

  • learn their spellings
  • practise their multiplication tables
  • read to an adult

If you wish to carry out any further work with your child, below is a copy of our targets for Autumn 2. Any activities that you wish to carry out to support these would be extra helpful!

Above is the year 3 and 4 spelling list. This is where our weekly spellings come from. If you would like to practise any spelling work at home, these are the words your child is expected to know at the end of year 4.

Below is a list of the words related to the texts we are working on in class. Can your child use them in a sentence?
