Welcome to Alumwell Junior School.
We are very proud of Alumwell Junior School and it’s place in the local community. Alumwell is a very special place to come to school and work. Our school motto is:
‘Excellence and Enjoyment for Everyone' and this applies to pupils, staff, parents and governors.
We place a strong emphasis on challenging and supporting every pupil to achieve excellence. We place equal importance on safeguarding and caring for the welfare of your children. In 2013 Ofsted visited our school and described us as a good school. We pride ourselves in being able to offer a wide range of extra curricular activities including boys and girls football, Junior Duke of Edinburgh, tag rugby, landscaping, althetics, dance and Lego club to name but a few!
We are also very fortunate to have been the first school in the West Midlands to have had own our own trained School Animal Therapy dogs – Bill Bailey (retired) and Dougie Dog! Thanks to a VERY persuasive School Council Dougie has now been joined by a new apprentice - Percy. They are much loved members of the school community and integral to the life and harmony of the school.
During July 2016 Palfrey Junior School became part of the Alumwell / Butts Federation. The federation is now called 'Cadmus Family of Schools'. Mr Vlahakis is the Executive Headteacher of the Federation. We - Mrs Boam and Mrs Upton are the Heads of School at Alumwell Junior School and we are both looking forward to working alongside pupils, staff and families to deliver our vision of “Excellence and Enjoyment for Everyone”, which is at the heart of everything we do at school. We endeavour to ensure that your child is provided with excellent opportunities both inside and outside the classroom.
We welcome visits so that you can see us in action and we can answer any questions that you may have.
