SMSC

Pupil's spiritual, moral, social and cultural education (SMSC) can be seen across the schoool's activities, but it brings together many of the wider elements covered by personal development.

Spiritual development of pupils includes:

being reflective about their own beliefs, knowledge of and respect for different faiths, enjoyment in learning about themselves and willingness to reflect on their experiences.

Moral development of pupils includes:

recognising the difference between right and wrong, understanding consequences of behaviour and actions, an interest in investigating and offering views about moral and ethical issues.

Social development of pupils includes:

using social skills in different contexts, participating in a variety of social settings, engaging with British Values and developing skills and attitudes to participate fully in life in modern Britain.

Cultural development of pupils includes:

understanding and appreciating the wide range of cultural influences that have shaped their own lives, that there are different cultural influences in school, identify things that they have in common with other cultures and knowledge of the parliamentary system.
