Our school band have been busy learning their songs for the end of year show. They have been working hard through their lunchtimes with Mr Hughes to practise both their individual parts and develop their ability to play together. The children have loved playing their new instruments and can't wait to hit the stage!

All classes took part in a Christmas performance this year at Alumwell Juniors. The children had been developing their skills on the steel pans with Mr Hughes from September and enjoyed showcasing their fantastic pieces. Year 3 and Year 4 played their pieces in unison, making use of single and double stroke techniques. In Year 5 and Year 6, children also incorporated the use of dynamics and harmonies to express the emotions of their pieces.
