PE and Games
Our PE curriculum is designed to provide our children with the opportunity to experience a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities. Classes have two lessons each week (one indoor and one outdoor) that change each half-term. As a result, children can improve their physical skill and endurance in different contexts and develop sporting interests that they can pursue in extra-curricular clubs inside or outside of school. In tandem with other areas of the curriculum (especially Science and PHSE), we also work with children to develop their understanding of related issues such as the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and the values of fair play and teamwork.
Alongside long-term planning, our extra-curricular clubs and activities supplement our children’s opportunities. We use our Sports Premium funding to host after-school clubs and attend local School Games competitions; we also take a leading role in organising intra-school competition within our federation.
