Class 5 Blog

Welcome to Class 5's blog!

Wow! It’s half term already and what a busy one it’s been. The children have thoroughly enjoyed their myths and legends work on King Arthur and The Kid Who Would Be King, producing some fantastic stories based around these two stories.

During our work on Black History month we studied the inspirational Michelle Obama.  In addition to choosing their favourite quotation, the children practised their portrait drawing skills.

We conducted various experiments on plants to learn more about how they grow and they created their own flowers to learn more about the functions of parts of a flower.

We had a lot of fun following the example of Henri Matisse in our drawing with scissors.

…and of course.  The children paid their respects to our late Queen Elizabeth II.

PE and Games

Our time table has changed slightly this half term.  Class 5 will recommence swimming after Christmas so they will return to a weekly games lesson on Tuesday afternoons and PE lessons on Friday. Please ensure that children have the correct kit in school on these days.  As the weather may be colder, children can wear dark hoodies and jogging bottoms or leggings.

It was lovely to meet all the parents this half term and share the children’s progress.  If you would like further up-dates or have any questions, please contact the office to arrange a catch up meeting or ‘phone call.

Just a reminder..

We aim to hear all the children read on a regular basis, this includes class, group and individual sessions.  Could you please remind your child to bring their book bag intro school every day to help us achieve this.
